Al-Zīyārah al-Jāmiʿa al-Kabīra
Zīyārah Jāmiʿa Kabīra is among the most important and most perfect ziyārah texts for the Infallible Imāms(a). This ziyārah was issued by Imām Hādī(a) to one of his companions upon his request. The content of this ziyārah text includes Shīʿa beliefs on Imamate, Imams’ positions and our duties towards them. This ziyārah can be regarded as a course on knowing Imams(a) composed in the form of eloquent and beautiful phrases. The text of this ziyārah is so that it can be recited for any of Imams(a) whether from distance or upon visiting their shrines.
ʿAllāma Majlisī said, "This ziyārah is the most complete ziyārah from distance or near [while visiting the shrine]"1. Also in his commentary on “Man lā Yaḥḍuruh al-Faqīh”, First Majlisī says, "This ziyārah is the best and most complete ziyārah which I have always visited Imams (a) in their holy shrines with."
Al-Ṣaduq narrated in (al-Faqīh) and (al-ʻUyūn) from Mūsá b. ʻAbdullāh al-Nakhaʻī that he said to Imām ʻAlī Naqī(a): “Teach me, O son of the Messenger of Allah, a comprehensive, eloquent statement to say when I visit one of you.”
Imām(a) said: “After having performed ghusl, when you reach the door (of the shrine), stand and testify the two testimonies, that is, say:
Ashhadu an lā ilha ilāā allhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu waʼshhadu anna muḥammadan ʻabduhu warasūluhu |
I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, He has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger. |
When you enter and see the grave, stand and repeat Takbīr2 thirty times. Then walk a little with tranquility and dignity, and take measured steps. Then stand and recite Takbīr another thirty times. Then, approach the grave and perform Takbīr forty times, a total of one hundred times.”
Then, say:

and the door with which people are put to test. |
man atakum naja |
Whoever comes to will have been saved |
wa man lam ya'tikum halaka |
but whoever refrains from joining you will have perished. |
ila allahi tad`una |
To Allah do you invite people, |
wa `alayhi tadulluna |
towards him do you show the way, |
wa bihi tu'minuna |
in Him do you believe, |
wa lahu tusallimuna |
to Him do you submit, |
wa bi'amrihi ta`maluna |
upon His command do you act, |
wa ila sabilihi turshiduna |
to His path do you direct, |
wa biqawlihi tahkumuna |
and according to His saying do you judge. |

Happy is he who is loyal to you, |
wa halaka man `adakum |
desolate is he who forsakes you, |
wa khaba man jahadakum |
disappointed is he who denies you, |
wa dalla man faraqakum |
straying off is he who separates himself from you, |
wa faza man tamassaka bikum |
winner is he who adheres to you, |
wa amina man laja' ilaykum |
secured is he who resorts to you, |
wa salima man saddaqakum |
saved is he who gives credence to you, |
wa hudiya man i`tasama bikum |
and rightly guided is he who takes shelter in you. |
man ittaba`akum faljannatu ma'wahu |
As to whoever follows you, Paradise will be his abode. |
wa man khalafakum falnnaru mathwahu |
As to whoever dissents you, Hellfire will be his dwelling. |
wa man jahadakum kafirun |
He who denies you is unbeliever, |
wa man harabakum mushrikun |
he who makes war against you is polytheist, |
wa man radda `alaykum fi asfali darakin min aljahimi |
and he who objects to you will be in the lowest tier of the burning fire. |
ashhadu anna hadha sabiqun lakum fima mada |
I bear witness that all the previous was pre-decided for you |
wa jarin lakum fima baqiya |
and it will continue in the future; |
wa anna arwahakum wa nurakum |
and that your souls, your light, |
wa tinatakum wahidatun |
and your form are the same; |

blessed and purified, |
baduha min ba din |
and one of the other. |
khalaqakum allahu anwaran |
Allah created you as lights; |
fajaalakum bi arshihi muhdiqina |
He then made you observe from His Throne |
hatta manna `alayna bikum |
until He endued us with the favor of your existence (among us) |
faja`alakum fi buyutin |
and then placed you in houses |
adhina allahu an turfa`a |
that He allowed to be raised |
wa yudhkara fiha ismuhu |
and to have His Name mentioned therein. |
wa jaala salatana alaykum |
He also decided our invocation of blessings upon you |
wa ma khassana bihi min wilayatikum |
and our loyalty to you |
tiban likhalqina |
to be immaculacy of our creation, |
wa taharatan li'anfusina |
purity of our souls, |
wa tazkiyatan lana |
refinement of our manners, |
wa kaffaratan lidhunubina |
and forgiveness of our sins. |
fakunna `indahu musallimina bifadlikum |
We have thus become, with Him, of those believing in your precedence |
wa ma`rufina bitasdiqina iyyakum |
and of those known for their giving credence to you. |
fabalagha allahu bikum ashrafa mahalli almukarramina |
Thus, Allah has raised you to the most principled place of the honored ones, |
wa a`la manazili almuqarrabina |
the highest station of those drawn near to Him, |
wa arfa`a darajati almursalina |
and the loftiest ranks of the Messengers |
