Duʿāʾ al-Faraj

This duʿāʾ is ascribed to the living Imām Mahdī^(a). It acts as a conduit for immediate assistance from our present Imām. Esteemed scholars highly recommend its frequent recitation. Kaf'amī asserts in his book "al-Balad al-Amīn" that should a wrongfully incarcerated individual recite this duʿāʾ, their freedom will swiftly follow. Should one find themselves enmeshed in misfortunes or conspiracies, this duʿāʾ can be their beacon, guiding them through times of crises, impasses, and tight circumstances.

إِلهِي عَظُمَ الْبَلاَءُ وَبَرِحَ الْخَفَاءُ وَانْكَشَفَ الْغِطَاءُ

ilāh¢ `a¨uma albalā’u wa bari¦a alkhafā’u wankashafa alghi§ā'u

O my God, ordeal has become immeasurable. The hidden has become exposed. The covered has been disclosed.

وَضَاقَتِ الأرْضُ وَمُنِعَتِ السَّمَاءُ

wa ¤āqat al-ar¤u wa muni`at alssamā'u

The earth has become narrow (despite its vastness). The sky has been prevented (from giving its blessings).

وَإِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ الْمُشْتَكَى وَعَلَيْكَ الْمُعَوَّلُ فِي الشِّدَّةِ وَالرَّخَاءِ

wa ilayka yā rabbi almushtakā wa `alayka almu`awwalu f¢ alshshiddati walrrakhā'i

And to You, O my Lord, is the complaint. Upon You is the reliance in hardships and leisure.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الَّذينَ فَرَضْتَ عَلَيْنَا طَاعَتَهُمْ فَعَرَّفْتَنَا بِذٰلِكَ مَنْزِلَتَهُمْ

allāhumma ¥alli `alā mu¦ammadin wa ālih¢ alladh¢na fara¤ta `alaynā §ā`atahum fa`arraftanā bidhālika manzilatahum

O Allāh, (please do) send blessings upon Muḥammad and his Household the obedience to whom has been made obligatory upon us by You, and whose (special) rank has been thus made known for us by You,

فَرِّجْ عَنَّا بِحَقِّهِمْ فَرَجاً عَاجِلاً كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ أوْ هُوَ أقْرَبُ

farrij `annā bi¦aqqihim farajan `ājilan kalam¦i alba¥ari aw huwa aqrabu

(please do) relieve our ordeals in the name of them with a relief that is as immediate as the twinkling of an eye or even closer.

يَا مُحَمَّدُ يَا عَلِيُّ يَا عَلِيُّ يَا مُحَمَّدُ

yā mu¦ammadu yā Alīyyu yā Alīyyu yā mu¦ammadu

O Muḥammad! O ʿAlī! O ʿAlī! O Muḥammad!

أنْصُرَانِي فَإِنَّكُمَا نَاصِرَايَ وَاكْفِيَانِي فَإِنَّكُمَا كَافِيَانِ

un¥urān¢ fa'innakumā nā¥irāya wakfiyān¢ fa'innakumā kāfiyāni

(Please) support me, for you both do support me, and save me, for you both do save.

يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا صَاحِبَ الزَّمَانِ الْغَوْثَ الْغَوْثَ الْغَوْثَ أدْرِكْنِي أدْرِكْنِي أدْرِكْنِي

yā mawlāya yā ¥ā¦iba alzzamāni alghawtha alghawtha alghawtha adrikn¢ adrikn¢ adrikn¢

O my master! O Patron of the Age! (I beseech you for) relief! (I beseech you for) relief! (I beseech you for) relief! (Please do) come to my aid! (Please do) come to my aid! (Please do) come to my aid!
