  • Imām Muḥammad al-Bāqir(a) narrates: “Order our Shīʿa to perform the ziyārah of the grave of al-Ḥusayn( a). Performing his ziyārah is obligatory upon every believer who testifies that al-Ḥusayn(a) is an Imām divinely appointed by Allāh(s).”

  • ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Kuthayr1 narrates: Imām Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq(a) said: “Even if you go for Ḥajj every year of your life but you do not perform the ziyārah of al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī(a) then you have abandoned one of your obligations towards Allāh and His Messenger(s). Allāh has made it obligatory upon the believers to fulfil the rights of al-Ḥusayn(a) and this ziyārah is obligatory upon every Muslim”.
