Hani b. ʿUrwa

سَلامُ الله الْعَظِيمِ وَصَلَوَاتُهُ عَلَيْكَ يَا هَانِئُ بْنَ عُرْوَةَ

salāmu allāhi al`a¨¢mi wa ¥alawātuh£ `alayka yā hāni'u bna `urwata

Peace of Allāh the All-great and His blessings be upon you, Hānī the son of `Urwah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أيُّهَا الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ

alssalāmu `alayka ayyuhā al`abdu al¥¥āli¦u

Peace be upon you, O righteous servant (of Allāh),

النَّاصِحُ لله وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلأمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِمُ اَلسَّلاَمُ

alnnā¥i¦u lillāhi wa liras£lih¢ wa li'am¢ri almu’min¢na wal¦asani wal¦usayni `alayhim alssalāmu

who acted sincerely for the sake of Allāh, His Messenger, the Commander of the Faithful, al-Ḥasan, and Al-Ḥusayn, peace be upon them.

أشْهَدُ أنَّكَ قُتِلْتَ مَظْلُوماً فَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ وَاسْتَحَلَّ دَمَكَ وَحَشَى قُبُورَهُمْ نَاراً

ashhadu annaka qutilta ma¨l£man fala`ana allāhu man qatalaka wasta¦alla damaka wa ¦ashā qub£rahum nāran

I bear witness that you were slain wrongly. So, may Allāh curse those who slew you and dared to shed your blood and may He stuff their graves with fire.

أشْهَدُ أنَّكَ لَقِيتَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ رَاضٍ عَنْكَ بِمَا فَعَلْتَ وَنَصَحْتَ

ashhadu annaka laq¢ta allāha wa huwa rā¤in `anka bimā fa`alta wa na¥a¦ta

I bear witness that you met Allāh while He is pleased with You for what you did and acted sincerely.

وَأشْهَدُ أنَّكَ قَدْ بَلَغْتَ دَرَجَةَ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَجُعِلَ رُوحُكَ مَعَ أرْوَاحِ السُّعَدَاءِ

wa ashhadu annaka qad balaghta darajata alshshuhadā’i wa ju`ila r£¦uka ma`a arwā¦i alssu`adā'i

And I bear witness that you have attained the rank of the martyrs, your soul has been included with the souls of the delighted ones

بِمَا نَصَحْتَ لله وَلِرَسُولِهِ مُجْتَهِداً وَبَذَلْتَ نَفْسَكَ فِي ذَاتِ الله وَمَرْضَاتِهِ

bimā na¥a¦ta lillāhi wa liras£lih¢ mujtahidan wa badhalta nafsaka f¢ dhāti allāhi wa mar¤ātih¢

for you painstakingly acted with sincerity for Allāh and for His Messenger, and sacrificed yourself for the sake of Allāh and for the sake of attaining His pleasure.

فَرَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ وَرَضِيَ عَنْكَ وَحَشَرَكَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ

fara¦imaka allāhu wa ra¤iya `anka wa ¦asharaka ma`a mu¦ammadin wa ālih¢ al§§āhir¢na

So, may Allāh have mercy upon you and be pleased with you, may He include you with the group of Muḥammad and his Immaculate Household,

وَجَمَعَنَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ مَعَهُمْ فِي دَارِ النَّعِيمِ وَسَلامٌ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَةُ الله وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

wa jama`anā wa iyyākum ma`ahum f¢ dāri alnna`¢mi wa salāmun `alayka wa ra¦matu allāhi wa barakātuh£

and may He gather us with you and them in the Abode of Bliss. Peace and Allāh’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
