Prayers and Supplications in the Center of the Mosque
The centre of Masjid al-Kūfa is also called Dakkat al-Miʻrāj (Seat of the Ascension to the Heavens). When the Holy Prophet(p), at the night of his Ascension, asked permission from Almighty Allah to visit this mosque, he offered his prayer at this place.
Offer a two unit prayer at the center of Masjid al-Kūfa, reciting Sūrah Fātiḥa and Sūrah Tawḥīd in the first unit, and Sūrah Fātiḥa and Sūrah Kāfirūn in the second. After you finish the prayer and Tasbīḥ, say the following:
اَللَّهُمَّ أنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ وَإِلَيْكَ يَعُودُ السَّلاَمُ |
allāhumma anta alssalāmu wa minka alssalāmu wa ilayka ya`£du alssalāmu |
O Allāh, You are the Peace. You are the source of peace. To You does peace belong. |
وَدَارُكَ دَارُ السَّلاَمِ حَيِّنَا رَبَّنَا مِنْكَ بِالسَّلاَمِ |
wa dāruka dāru alssalāmi ¦ayyinā rabbanā minka bilsslāmi |
Your abode is the abode of peace. So, our Lord, greet us with peace from You. |
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ هذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ ابْتِغَاءَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ وَمَغْفِرَتِكَ وَتَعْظِيماً لِمَسْجِدِكَ |
allāhumma inn¢ ¥allaytu hādhih¢ al¥¥alāta ibtighā'a ra¦matika wa ri¤wānika wa maghfiratika wa ta`¨¢man limasjidika |
O Allāh, I have offered this prayer, seeking Your mercy, pleasure, forgiveness, and as sign of my esteeming Your mosque. |
اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَارْفَعْهَا فِي عِلِّيِّينَ وَتَقَبَّلْهَا مِنِّي يَا أرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ |
allāhumma fa¥alli `alā mu¦ammadin wa āli mu¦ammadin warfa`hā f¢ `illiyy¢na wa taqabbalhā minn¢ yā ar¦ama alrrā¦im¢na |
O Allāh, (please) send blessings upon Muḥammad and the Household of Muḥammad, raise my prayer to the most elevated place, and accept it from me, O most merciful of all those who show mercy. |
